Profile

Mindie Paget has led communications and marketing efforts at KU Law since January 2008. She is a 2001 master's graduate of KU's William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications, where she served as managing editor of the University Daily Kansan and graduated with distinction.

Before joining KU Law, Paget was an award-winning reporter, editor and designer for six years at the Lawrence Journal-World. She captured the sweepstakes prize in the 2005 National Federation of Press Women Communications Contest and received a 2003 Media Award from the Kansas City Association of Black Journalists for "outstanding coverage of African Americans and other people of color in greater Kansas City."

Paget manages the law school's print and electronic communications. She writes, edits, designs and develops recruiting materials for prospective students, e-newsletters and invitations for internal and external audiences, the biannual KU Law Magazine, and promotional materials for law school events. She maintains the KU Law website and oversees the school's Web 2.0 presence on Facebook, Twitter and the KU Law Blog. She takes photographs, records audio and video, and produces multimedia presentations highlighting law school people and events. Paget also writes news releases and works with the media to find student and expert sources.

She is the designated Sustainability Ambassador for the law school and is committed to employing communications practices that reduce paper use and other environmental impacts.
