My name is Kristin Black. I am a first year law student
from Wichita, Kansas. I graduated from the University of Kansas in 2004
with a B.S. in Business Administration, a concentration in French and a
Dean’s Certificate in International Business.
Upon graduation I went to work for Gear for Sports, a
global apparel manufacturer in the Kansas City area. I held four
positions during my time at Gear, each one teaching me more about
work ethics, the positive results of hard work, and even one that
taught me everything I need to know about the world of professional
golf. Although I enjoyed my job, I knew that attending graduate
school was essential to meeting my long-term career goals.
One thing I was constantly looking for, both during
and after college, was a continuous intellectual challenge. Well,
I think I’ve found it! I am thrilled to be at KU Law. When
deciding which law schools to apply to I looked at factors such as
hands on experience through clinical programs, a strong international
law program, a range of student organizations, and study abroad
opportunities. I have found all of these, and more, at KU Law
located in the quintessential college town of Lawrence.
The decision to attend law school is a very exciting one!
I encourage you to visit the KU Campus and Green Hall. I look forward
to meeting you and answering any questions you have about my
experiences. Please email any questions to kristinb@ku.edu.
