I am Stacey Blakeman, a second year law student from
Overland Park, Kansas. I attended Iowa State University for undergrad
and graduated in 2006. At ISU, I double majored in English Rhetorical
Studies and Spanish with minors in Technical Communications and
Entrepreneurial Studies. It was in my rhetoric classes that I
first considered a future practicing law, and I am really happy
with my decision to go to law school at KU.
It was immediately clear that KU Law was the right fit for me
when I came to visit the school. Hearing student testimonies about their
personal experiences and learning about opportunities for clerkships, clinics,
and internships affirmed for me that KU was a place that I would thrive.
I really appreciate the atmosphere at Green Hall; students and faculty are
friendly and down-to-earth. Since my first year, I have participated in the
Public Interest Law Society, International Law Society, and I volunteer with
the Worker Justice Program, an organization in Kansas City. It is easy to
find your niche at KU Law. Come visit and see for yourself!
