Jessica Madrid

Hello! My name is Jessica Madrid and I am a third year law student from El Paso, Texas. I graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso where I earned a Bachelors degree in Political Science, with a minor in Analytical Reasoning. During my undergraduate studies, I was actively involved in Student Government as a Supreme Court Justice and in Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity as Committee Chair to prospective members.

Growing up in west Texas, I was a bit hesitant about moving to Kansas and attending KU Law, but once I arrived I knew I had found the right fit for me and my family. Lawrence is a great place to live and has a little something for everyone, whether you are single, married, or raising a family.

KU Law is a great place to begin your legal career. The professors are well educated individuals who genuinely care about teaching and helping their students learn the law. The atmosphere among students has always been a supportive learning environment with a good mix of life outside of the law school. KU offers a wide variety of certificate and clinical programs to further supplement your legal education. I am currently participating in the Legal Aid Clinic where I have the opportunity to gain real world experience practicing civil and criminal law, under the direction of licensed, practicing attorneys who are dedicated to my learning experience.

I encourage you to visit the law school and to meet with the faculty, staff and students. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have at jayrene@ku.edu.
