Katie Morgan

Hello! My name is Katie Morgan, and I am a second year law student at KU Law. I have lived a variety of places, including Germany, Alaska, Ohio, and Vermont, but now consider Lenexa, Kansas- where I live with my husband- “home.”

I attended Colorado State University for undergrad and earned a B.A. in English. I then attended The University of Vermont where I earned my M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration. Before coming to KU Law, I worked for a Federal TRiO grant sponsored by KU in Kansas City, Kansas.

I had always thought about attending law school, and decided to look into it while working in Kansas City. Choosing to go back to school (again) to pursue a law degree was not an easy decision, but choosing to attend KU Law was. I chose KU Law for many reasons, chief among them was the collegial nature of the school. Faculty have an open door policy and are willing to answer questions both inside and outside of the classroom. Students are competitive yet friendly and always willing to lend a hand. In addition to the collegiality of faculty and students, KU Law offers a variety of unique opportunities. KU Law was one of the only schools I looked at where I had the option to start in the summer and graduate early. Summer starting was a great option for me as it gave me a chance to ease into life back in school. I have also enjoyed participating in Women in Law, Public Interest Law Society, and the Defender Project.

I would be happy to answer any questions you have about my experiences at KU Law. Please email me at katiemor@ku.edu.
