Hi! My name is Jason Romero and I am a first-year law student. I grew up in Shawnee, Kansas, and I earned my undergraduate degree here at the University of Kansas. I majored in American Studies, and during my senior year I attended the University of Melbourne in Melbourne, Australia. Immediately after graduation, I started in the summer program at KU Law.
I chose KU Law for many reasons. The main reason was the great student atmosphere. I definitely preferred to spend the next three years with a friendly, sociable, and diverse crowd, which is exactly what I found here at KU. KU Law is a competitive school, yet students are always willing to help each other out in whatever ways possible. It is very easy to meet new friends and enjoy life outside of law school.
Lawrence is a great city to live in. There are a variety of social and cultural activities throughout the year, as well a great nightlife. Even if you want to catch a break from the student life, Kansas City and Topeka are only a short drive away. So if you come to KU Law, I can guarantee that you will never have a dull moment.
