"There are as many reasons for choosing a particular law school as there are students attending. More important, I think, are the reasons students stay at their chosen school and encourage others to come. My experience at KU Law has been nothing short of incredible! I am in an environment that enhances itself the more I put into it. The faculty’s and staff’s support of and dedication to the student body is boundless. There are opportunities to get as involved as you please and to shape not only your experience here, but that of the entire student body. KU Law truly prepares its students for life not only as attorneys, but as citizens and leaders."

"I’ve really enjoyed my first year at the University of Kansas School of Law. I've been extremely impressed with the quality and professionalism of the professors and the intelligence, diversity and camaraderie of the students. Several important factors made KU my top choice for law school. First, being a non-traditional student with a working spouse and two children, it was vitally important to attend a school with a strong sense of community near a metropolitan area. I make the short daily commute from Overland Park and I’ve found my “road time” gives me a little time to organize my thoughts prior to class in the mornings and decompress in the afternoon. Second, I strongly feel that KU Law offers one of the best values in legal education available in the country. Finally, after making a personal visit, I was firmly convinced that KU has the best facilities, staff and people in the region and was the 'right fit' for me. Come to Lawrence, and I’m sure you’ll feel the same!"

"My first year at KU School of Law was not only educational, but also very exciting. When I walked into my first class at KU, I became a "lawyer." I immediately felt a sense of pride and achievement, and most importantly, acceptance from the very first day. I was attracted to KU because of its small section program. The program divides the first-year class into sections of 18-20 students who share a class schedule for the entire year, as well as one class together exclusively. I especially enjoyed my small-section Torts class with Professor Steven McAllister and 18 of the most diverse, witty and intelligent people I had ever met. We bonded together as the "Tortanic" in the Small-Section Beach Volleyball Tournament and the Barber Emerson Blue-Book Relays. Not only did I learn Tort law, but I had a great time doing it! In fact, I had a great time in all my classes!"

"My decision to attend the University of Kansas School of Law was greatly influenced by the Elderlaw Clinic the school offered. I knew I wanted to be a part of a program that taught students to give back to their community while learning the necessary tools of legal education. The law school is home to nine clinics where students have the opportunity to participate in true hands-on legal work. I believe that this clinical approach to legal education is only one of the many factors that sets KU apart from the crowd and ready to enter the 21st Century. The legal education that KU offers is also enhanced by the outstanding quality of professors here. Not only are they skilled attorneys, but more importantly they are teachers, colleagues and mentors. My experience at KU has been challenging, enjoyable and memorable."

"The major factors that drew me to the University of Kansas School of Law were the location, a diverse student population, and a standard of academic excellence. As a mother of three school-age children, I needed to minimize my travel time. Living in western Johnson County, I can easily get to Lawrence and onto campus without worrying about Kansas City traffic. K.U. and the community of Lawrence are both well known for accepting, and even seeking out, diverse populations. Because I am a woman and a student of non- traditional age, I wanted to attend a school where I would feel part of the student population. Finally, the law school's reputation for academic excellence made it 'the one' school by whom I most hoped to be accepted. Although I applied to other schools in the same general geographic area, I felt the academic standards at K.U. would best prepare me for my legal career."

"Everyone chooses a law school for different reasons; some reasons are better than others are! I chose to attend KU for a number of reasons. First, KU's summer program offered a unique opportunity to gradually ease myself into law school by taking a few courses the summer before my actual first year. Then, during the fall and spring I was able to take electives which allowed me to more quickly determine what areas of the law I was interested in. Second, the tuition was one of the lowest of the schools I was considering. More importantly was the cost of the tuition in relation to the high level of academic and professional respect KU has both regionally and nationally. I investigated the reputation of all of the schools I was considering by speaking to practicing attorneys. The attorneys I spoke with consistently encouraged me to consider KU. I truly believe that the faculty and staff at the law school have thoroughly prepared me to begin my legal career as a law clerk for the Nevada Supreme Court after graduation. Finally, after visiting the law school and Lawrence with my wife, I knew KU was the best choice for me. Lawrence is a great town to spend three years in. It is close to two major legal communities (Kansas City and Topeka) which helps when you are looking for a job, it has the "small town feel" with all of the amenities of a major city, and you can't beat Kansas basketball!"

"My experience at the University of Kansas School of Law has been rewarding academically, socially, and financially. The University of Kansas law degree is well recognized amongst the legal community across the nation. This recognition allows many KU law graduates, as well as myself, to seek a variety of job opportunities across the nation. The law school atmosphere is very collegial. In my experience, professors at the law school are enthusiastic to talk to the students. The professors have been an excellent resource to discuss the law and to locate job opportunities. During the first year, law students are placed in a small section, which is a class of approximately twenty students. This arrangement fosters an environment that allows students to conveniently share resources and experiences. The affordable cost of attending KU is attractive to both in-state and out-of-state applicants. In my experience, attending KU has been a wise decision because I have received a top-notch education at a low cost."
