Funding Opportunities

Journey to J.D. is funded entirely through private support. The cost per student to attend the one-week program is $1,500. Please partner with KU Law in our efforts to increase the pool of diverse, well-educated prospective legal employees by sponsoring students to attend this program.

Program Benefits

The Journey to J.D. program ...

  • encourages underserved students to attend college and pursue a legal degree.
  • gives students a basic understanding of the legal system.
  • engages current law students as teachers.
  • involves area alumni to serve as mentors and positive role models.
  • exposes students to judges and the court system.
  • explores tools to succeed in college and law school.
  • provides opportunities to meet law alumni from all fields of law, including attorneys, judges and business leaders.
  • teaches interviewing skills.
  • enables students to experience a college campus.
