The Tribal Law and Government Center was
founded at KU to prepare a new generation
of advocates, particularly American Indians
and other Indigenous peoples, for careers
representing Indigenous Peoples. The Center
also provides a forum for discussion, research
and scholarship regarding tribal legal and
governance issues.
The University of Kansas School of Law has
been a leader in offering both course work
and clinical experience for students wanting
exposure to the practice of elder law. KU
offers a Certificate Program in Elder Law
for those wanting to pursue a focused study
on elder law and an LL.M. Program in Elder
Law, a post-juris doctorate program concentrated
on the study and practice of elder law.
The law school has substantially expanded
its International and Comparative Law
Program with additional course offerings,
activities and student opportunities.
KU Law offers a Certificate Program
in International Trade and Finance as
well as a two-year J.D. Program for
foreign lawyers. Its Overseas Visiting
Scholar Program further enriches the
law school’s international program.
KU law students have opportunities to
study abroad. The school is a founding
member of a consortium that sponsors
a spring semester program in London.
The school also sponsors summer programs
in Istanbul, Turkey and Limerick, Ireland.
