An Evening with Suzanne Vega and daughter Ruby Froom
The quintessential female singer-songwriter of the modern era
Suzanne Vega, "the quintessential female singersongwriter of the modern era," (Dallas Morning News) will perform works from her exceptional career with her daughter and upcoming musician Ruby Froom. Vega is known for her distinctive, clear vibrato-less voice, which has been described as "a cool, dry sandpaper-brushed near-whisper" and "plaintive but disarmingly powerful." Since releasing her critically-acclaimed debut album in 1985, Vega has been giving sold-out concerts in the world's best-known venues. Vega's song Tom's Diner was written about Tom's Restaurant at 112th Street and Broadway in New York City. This restaurant was later made famous because the exterior shots of Tom's were used in the sitcom Seinfeld.
