Laura Hines came to the KU law school in 1997 from private practice with Arnold & Porter in Washington, D.C., where she concentrated on class action litigation. That experience and her time as a law clerk for Chief Judge Donald P. Lay of the U.S. District Court for the Eighth Circuit have served her well in teaching Civil Procedure and Complex Litigation. She is a dedicated and highly regarded teacher known for her accessibility to students. Hines received her bachelor's degree from Brown University and her law degree from the University of Michigan, where she was a visiting professor in fall 1996.
