Profile
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Fred Lovitch joined the KU Law faculty in 1972 following a judicial clerkship and private practice in Philadelphia. His teaching and research focus on business law and especially securities regulation. He has worked closely with the Kansas Securities Commissioner and the Corporate, Banking and Business Law Section of the Kansas Bar Association on a wide range of issues, including the oppression of minority shareholders in closely held corporations. A highly regarded teacher known for his accessibility to students, Lovitch held the Chancellors Club Teaching Professorship, 1990-1992.
