How to Submit an Article for PublicationThe Kansas Law Review requests that contributors submit the following:
Thank you for considering the Kansas Law Review. Publishing with the Kansas Law ReviewOur Editing Process:Our editing process is designed to maintain the author's voice and style while ensuring proper grammar and citation. We take the author's comments throughout the editing process very seriously. An ongoing, interactive relationship between the author and editors is essential to the integrity of our law review. Each article goes through three rounds of editing and proofreading. We send the author at least two drafts of the article, both of which include "compare" copies. Editors also send letters highlighting editorial changes and questions. This enables the author to thoroughly review and comment on any changes and suggestions. Authors who have decided to publish with the Kansas Law Review have been pleased with our approach to editing. We make changes only to fix grammar and Bluebook citations. We do not change style. Where we think sentences or sections are unclear, we mark them and ask the author for clarification. Our Goals:We strive to publish articles, notes, and comments on timely, practical legal issues that address areas of interest to scholars, judges, and practitioners. We also strive to be recognized as a respected, well-written law review that maintains high standards of quality and integrity. As such, we consider the following criteria in choosing articles:
Complimentary Reprints:The University of Kansas Law Review will furnish an author with twenty-five complimentary reprints of his or her article bound alone with a special cover that designates only the author's name and the title of the author's article. We also send the author three copies of the entire issue in which the author's article appears. Additional copies of bound articles are available upon request for a small fee. Promptness:We take our scheduling commitments seriously. We are sincere when we tell the authors who choose to publish with us that an issue will be available on a certain date. Our issues are published according to the following schedule:
