Library Policies for the General Public

Loan Policy

A significant portion of the Wheat Law Library's collection does not circulate (reference materials, periodicals, primary materials, etc.).

Items that do circulate include Reserve items which are loaned for four hours and some classified works which can be checked out for one month, but can be recalled after two weeks. Classified materials can be renewed providing there are no hold requests on them.

Fees are assessed for lost materials.

Photocopying

Photocopy machines are located on the second and third floors. The charge is eight cents per page after purchasing a visitor login account.

Printing

Printing costs 8 cents per page after purchasing a visitor login account. You may also bring a USB flash drive on which to download your research or you may use the e-mail option (when available) if accessing Internet/electronic services while at the library. Printing from laptops is currently unavailable.

Lost and Found

Items found in the library are kept at the Circulation Desk.

Food, Drink and Smoking

Smoking is not permitted in the building, including the library.

Snacks and beverages may be consumed away from library collections, computers, and equipment. For example, at carrels or study tables but not while seated at library computers or finding books in the stacks. Please dispose of all trash in appropriate containers so that a clean environment can be maintained. Report any spills you cannot effectively clean up to library staff so that appropriate action can be taken.

Reshelving Books

Library users are requested to reshelve books whenever possible for everyone's convenience.
