Library Policies for Students
LOAN POLICY
A significant portion of the Law Library's collection does not circulate
(eg. reference materials, periodicals, primary materials, etc.).
Items that do circulate include Reserve items which are
loaned for four hours and some classified works which can be checked
out for one month, but can be recalled after two weeks. Classified
materials can be renewed providing there are no hold requests on them.
Most materials in the Library can be checked out for one
semester to study carrels within the Library.
Fines are assessed for overdue materials.
PHOTOCOPYING
Photocopy machines are located on the first, second and third floors. The
charge is ten cents per copy by cash and seven cents when using your
KU ID (for those affiliated with KU) or the KU Library Borrower card
(for the public). The copiers on the first and third floors are card-only;
the second floor machine takes either a card or cash. A change machine
is located in the informal commons on the first floor of the law school.
PRINTING
Students must set up a print account in order to use the law school printers.
More information on this can be found on the Technology
Department's web site.
LOST AND FOUND
Items found in the library are kept at the Circulation Desk.
FOOD, DRINK, SMOKING
Smoking is not permitted in the building, including the library.
Patrons are requested to consume food outside Library
confines.
Patrons may drink coffee, tea, soft drinks, etc., in
the library in non-disposable containers with lids; bottled
water with a lid is also allowed.
RESHELVING BOOKS
Library users are requested to reshelve books whenever possible for everyone's
convenience.
