Spring events include reunion, diversity banquet and CLE


Diversity in Law Banquet
When: 6 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2009
Where: Maceli’s, 1031 New Hampshire St., Lawrence, KS 66044
Cost: $50 per person

Sarah Deer, a 1999 graduate of the law school, will speak at the 14th Annual Diversity in Law Banquet. She is a citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and a visiting professor at the William Mitchell College of Law. The banquet began to recognize KU Law’s diversity organizations and highlight their efforts. It also serves as one of the most important fundraising events for the Diversity Scholarship Fund, which the law school established to expand legal opportunities for all students.

Class of 1978 – 30th Reunion
When: March 27-28, 2009
Where: Lawrence, KS
Cost: $55 per person

Members of the KU Law Class of 1978 have organized a weekend of reunion activities that include a Friday night cocktail party at Bill Skepnek’s house, coffee and conversation with Dean Gail Agrawal, a walk to old Green Hall and a Saturday evening dinner.

Return to Green CLE
When: 9 a.m.-3:10 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2009
Where: Green Hall, 1535 W. 15th St., Lawrence, KS 66045-7577
Cost: $50

We had such a great response to last year’s inaugural Return to Green CLE that we’re hosting it again in April. Judges and attorneys – all KU Law alumni – will present sessions on employment law, intellectual property, recent Kansas and Missouri decisions and more. Five hours of credit, including two hours of ethics, are pending approval.
