AAJ Women for Justice Education Fund’s Mike Eidson Scholarship

Award: $5,000

Deadline: May 31, 2012

Eligibility: The Mike Eidson Scholarship is awarded to a rising 3L female student who has demonstrated a commitment to a career as a plaintiff's lawyer or criminal defense lawyer, along with dedication to upholding and defending the principles of the Constitution, and to the concept of a fair trial, the adversary system, and a just result for the injured, the accused, and those whose rights are jeopardized.

Asian American Bar Association of Kansas City Diversity Scholarship

Award: $2,500

Deadline: June 15, 2012

Eligibility: The Asian American Bar Association of Kansas City (AABAKC) plans to award a $2,500 Diversity Scholarship to an eligible law student who demonstrates a commitment to serve or contribute to the Asian American community as a future leader. To be eligible, you must be a dues-paying member of AABAKC and enrolled in an ABA accredited law school as a candidate for a J.D. (either as a first-year or second-year full-time student) as of April 1, 2012. Prior AABAKC Diversity Scholarship recipients shall be excluded from consideration for the award. Baker Donelson Diversity Scholarship

Award: $10,000

Deadline: June 22, 2012

Eligibility: Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC will award three scholarships to diverse law students this year. Each recipient will be awarded $10,000 which will be paid during the student's third year of law school to help defray the cost of law school tuition and related expenses. Additionally, recipients will be awarded a salaried 2L Summer Associate position in one of our following offices: Birmingham, AL; Atlanta, GA; Orlando, FL; Baton Rouge, New Orleans, LA; Jackson, MS; Chattanooga, Johnson City, Knoxville, Memphis, Nashville, TN; or Houston, TX. The recipients' office preferences will be taken into consideration, but final assignment will be according to the firm's needs. The recipients may split their summers with other law firms; however, they are required to work during the period that the other Summer Associates in that Baker Donelson office are working.
