Becoming a Member of the Kansas Law Review
Membership Information:
During their first year on Law Review, members will edit, bluebook, and proofread the content that goes into the Review. Members are also responsible for writing an article for possible publication in the Law Review. They have a choice of writing one comment, writing two notes, or writing one note and participating in the annual Kansas Crim Pro Survey.
Membership Selection:
Membership in the Kansas Law Review is determined by combining a student's score on an annual writing competition and a student's law school grade point average. An informational meeting about the process of becoming a member is held in early spring.
To compete, University of Kansas School of Law students must: 1) have at least two semesters remaining before graduation; 2) have completed two regular semesters at the University of Kansas School of Law (transfer students must have completed at least one semester at the University of Kansas School of Law).
The writing competition is held early in the spring semester. The final score for each student is comprised of the score of an anonymously graded competition paper, as well as the GPA calculation. There is no minimum GPA required. Invitations to join are then issued in the summer.
Competition Information:
Will be posted as available.
