Final arguments of the 2010 Moot Court Competition

From a pool of more than 60 second-year law students, four emerged to compete in the final round of the 2010 Moot Court Competition on April 13, 2010. Lindsay Grise and her co-counsel, Evan North, were deemed the winning team by a three-judge panel that included Judge Mary Beck Briscoe, L'73, of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit; Gov. Mark Parkinson, L'84; and Judge John Lungstrum, L'70, of the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas. Opposing counsel were fellow 2Ls Daniel Buller and Milos Jekic, who argued on behalf of the respondent. Grise won the award for best oral advocate, and she and North won first place in the brief category. Melissa Plunkett and Erin Slinker Tomasic won the award for second-best brief.
